The first thing is I got a mastodon account set up! It's a bit lonely, but I do post small random things I find occasionally. I'm not always sure what to do with my larger blog, or much of how people write on the internet (especially today). As much as I'd rather have large blogs in which I document some semi-life changing event or subject matter I have engrossed myself in the past few weeks, I the inspiration is not always there, or my time doesn't always happen that way. It's also become noticeably harder to find the content on the internet I used to like or things I'd like to read. It's worth it's own reflection, but seeing as most of my attempts to do so previously in this blog were not so constructive, perhaps I'll try again some other time!

The second thing is that I broke my badge at work fidgeting with it while my semi-manager was talking to me. Things usually get broken at my desk in this way and it's not my keyboard or other peripherals. So I decided to make a "begleri" this weekend. The instructions are simple enough, and I didn't follow them. I went to a hardware store and bought four tiny hex nuts and a roll of thin nylon twine. I then threaded the nuts on the string and tied it off:

It's a lot of fun to twirl around, clink the beads together or move them up and down the string, and not large enough to do any damage if swung into things. Though maybe not, because it hurts my knuckles a little if I try to build up speed. I had worried the twine was the wrong string, and yes, it does seem to be unraveling in some places, and the pink dye has inevitably worn off on my pocket and fingers, but I have a lot of replacement string, and will keep trying to perfect the design later!

The third thing is that I commissioned an artist (ruka) for my raven Jalfi in autumn, and the result is so cute I /have/ to post it somewhere!

I have only been sharing this type of thing on my gemini capsule, since I suspect it gets a lot more human traffic than scrapers. I'm not sure how many humans actually read what I write publish on here per year, but I don't care, even if it's the only thing I can do, even if I am an amateur at it now or it's drowned out in noise, the writing will continue! I have been practicing poetry again recently, and may start sharing my attempts again soon.
